Family Optical was established in 1990 in Georgetown, Ontario, by David Joseph, a dedicated registered optician and certified contact lens fitter. With a passion for advancing eye care, David brought his extensive knowledge of the latest optical technologies to the community, helping countless patients achieve clear and comfortable vision. Leveraging over 35 years of hands-on experience, he expertly fits lenses, frames, contact lenses, and a variety of vision correction devices tailored to individual needs.
In 1998, Family Optical expanded its services by opening a second location in Bolton, Ontario. This branch is managed by Susan Joseph, a highly skilled graduate optician with more than 30 years of professional experience. Susan shares the same commitment to personalized care and precision in fitting eyewear, ensuring every client receives expert guidance and exceptional service.
Together, David and Susan Joseph have built Family Optical into a trusted name in eye care, known for combining expert craftsmanship, advanced technology, and genuine patient care across both locations.

Georgetown Store
The optometric services are typically available on five days of the week. In Georgetown, we have two optometrists, Dr. Richard Joseph and Dr. Nicholas DeSouza. Both doctors create a comfortable atmosphere that allows you to enjoy your visit. They provide the following services: primary eye care, pediatric eye care, laser vision consultation, visual field testing, myopia control, scleral lenses and fundus camera.
In our Georgetown store, you can find quality eyewear for every individual. Our opticians are always there to serve you in the most efficient way and guide you to find a frame that is suitable for your lifestyle. We offer our services in the regions of Halton Hills, Milton, Georgetown, Acton, Ballinafad, Erin, Limehouse, parts of Mississauga and Brampton West.
Our Hours of Operations:
- Monday to Friday: 10am to 7pm EST
- Saturday: 10am to 6pm EST
- Sunday: Closed
Bolton Store
In our Bolton optical store, we offer optometric services on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Our optometrist, Dr. Richard Joseph, provides exceptional care that promotes a friendly and enjoyable visit. The following services are provided at this office including primary eye care, pediatric eye care, laser vision consultation, visual field testing, myopia control and scleral lenses.
Just like our Georgetown store, in Bolton, we offer designer eyewear, contact lenses and sunglasses that follow the latest fashion trend. We meet all the eye care and optical needs of Palgrave, Nobleton, Caledon, Brampton, Bolton, Woodbridge, Vaughan and Kleinberg.
